Baton Baton Mein is a 1979 Hindi romantic comedy directed by Basu Chatterjee. Set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s suburban train culture, the film follows Tony Braganza (Amol Palekar) and Nancy Perreira (Tina Munim), who meet during their daily commute from Bandra to Churchgate. Their budding romance faces challenges due to Tony’s hesitation towards commitment and Nancy’s mother’s expectations.​ 

Pearl Padamsee portrays Rosie Perreira, Nancy’s well-meaning but anxious mother, eager to see her daughter married to a financially stable man.
